In
2004, Jenny K. opened as a retail storefront on Stockton Avenue in El Cerrito, eventually blossoming into what it is today. Still a small store, Jenny K. now offers the community much more than candles, cards and gifts. In January of 2005, Jen with her husband Kevin opened Well Grounded Tea & Coffee Bar next door.
This dormant little retail district was waking up. Neighbors began to meet each other at the café. Parents would browse Jenny K while their children drew pictures on the sidewalk with chalk. Where once there was concrete and bland white stucco, trees are planted and a window box of colorful flowers now blooms. A community has been reborn.

is committed to supporting small manufacturers and artisans. Many of the products in the store are domestically made, even a few made right here in California! For instance, one of Jen's personal favorites is Fire & Light Glass. Hand-poured in Arcata, Fire & Light uses recycled glass from their local recycling program to create gorgeous signature pieces. Jenny K. features the largest selection of Fire & Light glassware in the East Bay and is happy to do special orders.
Since
Jen's background is in the candle industry, she couldn't leave that segment out of her store! In addition to carrying California based Nature's Essence, she also carries a variety of domestically made candles, from soy and palm wax based candles, to beeswax, she most likely has what you are looking for. Affordable European Tapers (only $1.35!) to the elegant A.I. Root Collenette Candles, we offer candles for every occasion.
Jen loves to know the manufacturers she works with, one of her favorites is Lepi de Provence, a imported French Body Care line. She met owners Mark & Nina on the airplane on the way to the Atlanta Gift Show. Now friends, Jen works closely with Mark and Nina making sure that she is carrying their entire product line both in store and online.

really does have a "little bit of everything", her customers love the variety of greeting cards Jen offers. Most cards are made domestically, with recycled paper and many with soy based inks. One of Jen's favorite card lines is Great Arrow, hand silkscreened cards that are affordably priced at only $2.95.
